Randy MacBlane

Managing Partner

Randy is a founding member of Lake Trail Partners. As a former Vice President of Engineering at BEA Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAS - News), Randy had responsibility for WebLogic Platform, WebLogic Porting and Certification, WebLogic Server Performance, WebLogic Platform Customer Centric Engineering and Tuxedo. He is experienced at managing both small and large teams. His experience also includes managing global teams and projects leveraging offshore outsourced resources. Randy also spent time as Director of Business Development for Weblogic Server. In that role, he worked with technology companies and negotiated key technology licensing agreements.

Randy came to BEA from AT&T Bell Laboratories, Unix System Laboratories and Novell as a member of the Tuxedo System team. During that time he was the architect of the Tuxedo System's administration and networking infrastructure.

Randy holds a MS degree in Computer Science from the University of Michigan and a BS degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Terry Dwyer

Terry is a founding member of Lake Trail Partners. Terry is a former BEA Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAS - News) executive. He was BEA's first Executive Vice President of R&D and later became BEA's Chief Technical Officer. In both roles, Terry was a key contributor to BEA's Executive Leadership Team and to BEA's growth from a startup to $1B annual revenue company. He has extensive experience managing large teams, large budgets and in overseeing strategic technology decisions.

Terry came to BEA from AT&T Bell Laboratories, Unix System Laboratories and Novell. Terry is acknowledged as the father of Tuxedo. It was his thought leadership that leveraged the high performance, scalable systems experience of AT&T Bell Laboratories to create the Tuxedo System. Tuxedo later became the flagship product of BEA Systems at its formation. Terry is also a coauthor of "The Tuxedo System" book.

Terry holds a MS degree in Mathematics from Penn State University and a BS degree in Mathematics from Manhattan College.
